Entourage Effect
The term “entourage effect” is understood in the industry as a concept by which the combination of multiple compounds found in the hemp plant work simultaneously in your body to provide a better, overall performance of bodily functions. While most of these compounds have their own therapeutic benefits by themsleves, the combination of multiple cannabinoids working synergistically, offers an optimal performance superior to any single compound, including CBD. Studies comparing broad spectrum CBD oil (oil contain all the phytocannabinoids found in the hemp plant except THC) to Isolate (oil only containing one cannabinoid, such as CBD) have proven that broad spectrum was much more effective when fighting pain and inflammation. Much like a machine, when all parts are working in unison at their highest potential the resulting product is exceptional.
The following are examples of conditions that benefit from the Entourage Effect:
- Gastrointestinal disorders: while THC improves appetite, adding CBD can help with anorexia and nausea
- Anxiety disorders: THC alone can cause anxiety and make matters worse, adding CBD counteracts the effects of THC to alleviate symptoms of stress, PTSD, panic attacks, etc.
- Neurological disorders: THC helps patients with Tourette’s, but the addition of several other cannabinoids can ease symptoms of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s
- Epilepsy & Seizure disorders: Studies have show CBD is effective at significantly decreasing the frequency of seizures and has the potential of offering complete seizure freedom.
